At our July meeting we had two super teachers from Lakewood Elementary do a couponing class for our Homemakers group. These women use couponing to save money and stretch their family budget. They started the class with this statement:
"This is not extreme couponing. You will not be buying 100 of the same item for a penny. We are going to teach you how to save money on the items you already buy."
They shared with us how to organize a coupon binder and how they match coupons with the weekly sales ads that are in the Sunday paper. They highly recommended purchasing the Sunday paper, not only for the coupons, but for the ads.
They also shared their top coupon sources:
Coupons.com
saveatiga.com
dollargeneral.com
redplum.com
pgeveryday.com
lozo.com
klip2save.com Great to order coupons that have already been clipped. You can order several of same coupons for a small price. Will arrive within 2-3 days generally. Great for the person who doesn't have time to clip coupons for if you see something you want to stock up on and need multiple coupon. Keep in mind your coupon policies.
The group then shared their favorite online couponing matching sites including Kroger Krazy and The Krazy Coupon Lady who have Facebook pages and are constantly updating with the latest deals.
It is important to know your store's couponing policy-different stores in different areas have different policies.
Don't forget our next meeting is September 16th at 6:30 p.m. at the Hardin County Cooperative Extension Office located behind Cecilia Auto Sales and across from the Hardin County Farmer's Market. The class topic will be Floral Arranging and Decor. We ask that everyone please bring a vase. Everything else will be provided. We will also be accepting dues at this meeting. Dues are $15. Per Homemaker by-laws members are allowed to attend two meetings to get a feeling before paying dues. If you have attended the June and July meeting this applies to you. What are dues used for? Ten dollars go to state Homemaker's dues and the money is used for programming, ovarian cancer screening, convention, etc. and the remaining $5.00 stays with our chapter do provide materials for programming, etc. We have many exciting classes scheduled during club meetings and we are working on scheduling special classes, like our Silhouette class, for more complex lessons! We look forward to having you!
